Additional Exams
In addition to inspecting each tooth in your mouth, Dr. Erlick or Dr. Bellamy will also perform a periodontal exam, which means that we will inspect your gums for signs of gingivitis, bacterial pockets, and gum recession. Up to 80% of the population suffers from some form of gum disease, which can lead to tooth loss and poor overall health. If we detect gum disease, we can start you on a plan to improve periodontal health. This may include deep cleaning in our Whitby office, but it will also involve daily flossing, special mouthwash, and brushing teeth twice a day.
